Yesterday after Updosing to 2 peanuts; Laura, Seth and I got to go to the Ogden Temple open house. We have been to many temple open houses, but Seth and Laura do not remember much about them. It was beautiful and amazing to see how different it was from the previous structure. Seth was particularly influenced, I think, by how he felt when he was there. I am so happy we went!
After that, we headed to Ikea. Laura gave up her room last year for Erlend, our exchange student from Sweden. She has basically been living in a tent. We told her that we would do whatever she wanted to her room before she moved back in. It has been a crazy summer, so we have moved slowly, but she is almost ready to move in! We have replaced all the 1970's trim and doors, and painted it in Laura's chosen colors. (All relating to dolphins, of course.) She has decided that she is ready to leave behind the bunk bed set she has been using, and therefore needs a desk and bookshelf. YAY! At Ikea, we had a late lunch (meatballs, of course) and did a little shopping!
On the way home, Laura once again got a stomach ache. Just as we pulled into town, she started throwing up again. Poor girl. Luckily we had bags in the car, so we made it home without a mess, we just had a disappointed girl.
Dr. Jones has instructed us to decrease her dosage back to one peanut. Bummer. However, it is all good. On the way home, Laura and I had just been talking about how far she has come this year. It was just last August that Dr. Bitner had told Laura that she was too allergic and not a candidate for OIT. And now look where she is!!! It is totally good if she takes longer than most, she is still making progress, and she is still safer EVERY DAY! We are so thankful for Dr. Jones! He is giving us an amazing gift. And it is ALL GOOD if Laura takes a little longer to make it through this process. We will take as long as it takes.
