We have established a routine, and things are seeming to be "normal" now. Laura has had to add quite a few meds to her daily routine, but it is SO worth it if it can mean freedom from these allergies! Mom has issues with needing to have things "in order" and issues with charting. :-) She just cannot lose the nursing part of her! This is Laura's "chart" that Laura is responsible for keeping updated! This way we know when we have done what and have a place to note any problems...
When taking the peanut solution, it is important to rinse the mouth with water after. This helps to prevent any oral itch or mouth/throat symptoms. It is also critical for Laura (we have found) to follow her dose with bread. I think it kind of helps to clean up any remaining peanut residue. Carbs are also important with dosing to help prevent side-effects. Here is a good sample of what Laura eats when dosing every 12 hours. (As well as the fact that it is usually right after breakfast/dinner.)
Since today was the last day of the kids' spring break, I offered to take anyone who wanted to come to explore the Dinosaur Park in Ogden before Laura's appointment. Seth was the only other kid who wanted to come with Laura and I. We had an AWESOME time! The weather was perfect and the park was SO FUN to explore!
Part way through the park, a snake fell out of a tree right in front of Laura! It was a little unnerving!!!
Time for dosing at Dr. Jones' office. Seth loved the OIT room and made himself right at home!
Congrats Laura! 15 mg is a GREAT START!!! You have been a trooper in adapting to early morning dosing, even on spring break when everyone else gets to sleep in and you have to get up at 6 AM to dose!! You go girl!!!
